Dobbs Ferry, N.Y. – The Molloy women's basketball team defeated the Mercy Mavericks, 71-55, Wednesday evening at Victory Hall. The Lions improved to 17-8 overall and 9-4 in ECC play, while the Mavericks fell to 7-18 overall and 1-13 in league play.

How it Happened

• The Lions jumped out to a 13-6 advantage, led by five points from graduate student Kadijah Dickson.
• Molloy led 23-19 at the end of the first stanza.
• With the score tied at 32, the maroon and white ended the half on a 9-2 rally, sparked by four points from senior Kathryn Gibson, and led 41-34 at the break.
• Ahead 43-38, the Lions went on a 8-0 rally, led by five points from Dickson, to extend their lead to 51-38.
• Junior Gabriella Aspuru hit a three-pointer in the final seconds of the frame, and the visitors led 61-44 at the end of 30 minutes of play.
• Dickson made a jumper to make it a 68-50 contest with 5:05 left helping Molloy to a 71-55 victory.

Top Performances

• Dickson, who has scored in double figures in 23 of 24 games played this season, netted a game-high 23 points to go along with eight rebounds, and three steals.
• Aspuru tallied 16 points and 10 rebounds for her third double-double of the season.
• Gibson added 14 points.
