Rockville Centre, N.Y. – The Molloy women's basketball team defeated the Caldwell Cougars, 68-41, Monday evening at Quealy Gymnasium. The Lions improved to 11-4 overall and the Cougars fell to 2-12.

How it Happened

• The Lions started the game on a 22-1 run, led by eight points from graduate student Kadijah Dickson and five points apiece from senior Kathryn Gibson and junior Gabriella Aspuru, and led 22-5 at the end of the first frame.
• Junior Jenna Silletti led Molloy with six points in the second quarter, and the home team led 32-15 at the half.
• Caldwell cut the maroon and white's lead to 42-30 with 1:24 left in the third stanza.
• Aspuru made a layup and junior Giolibeth Perez made a pair of free throws to give the Lions a 46-30 advantage at the end of 30 minutes of play.
• Molloy started the fourth quarter on a 15-4 run, led by seven points from graduate student Robyn Francis and six points from Aspuru, to increase their lead to 61-34.

Top Performances

• Aspuru tallied 18 points, on 7-of-15 shooting, and 12 rebounds for her second double-double of the season.
• Francis tallied 14 points, on 5-of-9 shooting.
• Dickson registered 12 points, on 6-of-12 shooting, seven rebounds, seven assists, and five steals.
• Gibson added 10 points.
