Amherst, N.Y. – The Molloy women's basketball team fell to the Daemen Wildcats, 68-51, Friday evening at Lumsden Gymnasium. The Lions moved to 13-6 overall and 5-2 in ECC play, while the Wildcats improved to 14-3 overall and 6-1 in league play.

How it Happened

• The Lions jumped out to a 7-2 advantage, led by five points from junior Gabriella Aspuru.
• The Wildcats went on a 9-0 run to take a 11-7 lead.
• Daemen led 16-13 at the end of the first stanza.
• Molloy netted the first four points of the second frame on a pair of foul shots from Aspuru and a jump shot from graduate student Robyn Francis to go ahead 17-16.
• The home team went on an 8-1 rally to go up 24-18 and led 24-22 at the half.
• Aspuru started the third quarter with a jumper to knot the score at 24.
• Daemen went on a 15-0 run to take a 39-24 advantage and led 48-35 after 30 minutes of play.
• The Wildcats extended their lead to 68-48 with 1:14 left en route to a 68-51 victory.

Top Performances

• Aspuru netted a team-high 21 points and grabbed seven rebounds.
• Graduate student Kadijah Dickson tallied 11 points and seven rebounds, and senior Kathryn Gibson added 10 points.
