Rockville Centre, N.Y. – The Molloy women's basketball team defeated the Mercy Mavericks, 61-48, Saturday afternoon at Quealy Gymnasium. The Lions improved to 13-5 overall and 5-1 in ECC play, while the Mavericks moved to 6-12 overall and 0-7 in conference play.

How it Happened

• The Lions jumped out to a 6-3 advantage on three-pointer from junior Gabriella Aspuru.
• Down 10-6, Molloy ended the quarter on a 10-3 run, sparked by 10 points from graduate student Kadijah Dickson, and led 16-13 after the first frame.
• The maroon and white outscored the Mavericks 22-4 in the second half, led by eight points from Dickson and six points from graduate student Robyn Francis, and led 38-17 at the half.
• With the score 52-35, Dickson made a jumper in the final seconds of the third stanza, and Molloy led 54-35 at the end of 30 minutes of play.
• Mercy outscored the home team 13-7 in the final quarter.

Top Performances

• Dickson, who shot 9-of-10 in the first half and 13-of-19 in the game, tallied a season-high 31 points and 13 rebounds for her fourth double-double of the season.
• Junior Gabriella Aspuru tallied nine points, and junior Morgan Staab added seven points.
