Rockville Centre, N.Y. – The Molloy women's soccer team and the Bentley Falcons played to a scoreless draw Sunday afternoon at John A. Darcy Field. The Lions and Falcons moved to 1-0-1.

How it Happened

• Senior Angela Careddu fired the first shot of the contest, which was denied by Bentley goalkeeper Kat Hassapis.
• The Falcons, who outshot Molloy 5-3 in the first half, took the next three shots, which were stopped by junior Jackie Carty.
• The away team outshot the maroon and white 7-2 in the second stanza, but four saves by Carty kept the score even after 90 minutes of play.
• Junior Dana Poetzsch created a chance in each extra session, but failed to find the back of the net.

Top Performances

• Carty made nine saves for her second shutout of the season.
• Poetzsch led the team with four shots.
• Careddu, senior Lauren Marinello, and sophomore Lexi Verni took one shot each.

Coach's Comments

• "It was the end of a very productive weekend, where we got two clean sheets against two good teams," head coach Steve Price said. "Today our defense looked okay.  We need to work on finishing, but it was a good weekend."

• The maroon and white travels to play Saint Rose Wednesday, September 11. Kickoff with the Golden Knights is scheduled for 6:00 p.m.
