West Haven, Conn. - The field hockey team continued Northeast-10 competition this evening at the University of New Haven, falling 4-2. Molloy sites at 2-2 on the season and 1-1 in league play with the loss while UNH improved to 2-4 on the season (2-1 NE10).
How it Happened
- After a scoreless first quarter, the Chargers scored in the 21st and 22nd minute to take a 2-0 lead.
- Molloy got on the board in the 38th minute after back-to-back penalty corners. Junior Olympia Moulton netted her first goal in maroon and white, taking a shot from the top of the circle and beating the goalie on the lower left side.
- The home team quickly regained a two-goal lead in the 39th minute, setting the score at 3-1.
- Sophomore Kyra Dalli brought the Lions back within one just three minutes later, also scoring from the top of the circle.
- The maroon and white took two shots in the final quarter of action, but were unable to knot the score before New Haven added an insurance goal in the final minute of play.
Top Performances
- Both Dalli and Moulton netted their first goals of the season in the effort.
- Sophomores Eryn Tudryn and Carly Malico each added assists on the performance.
- Freshman Ally Saigh made four saves in the first half while fellow rookie Ava Quick made two stops in relief.
