Waltham, Mass. - The volleyball team split its final games at the Sandy Hoffman Memorial Tournament, picking up a 3-0 victory over East Stroudsburg University before falling in five sets to host Bentley University. - The Lions started strong, taking eight of the first ten points of the contest, including five in a row on the serving of Smith.
- The Warriors made a late run, taking seven straight points to come within two, 22-20.Â
- Molloy was able to take the set, 25-21, with help from two kills from senior Hailey Wehr.
- The maroon and white hit at an incredibly effective .417, making just one error, while holding the Warriors to just nine kills in the set and a .000 hitting percentage.
- Molloy took advantage of a 5-0 start in the third set before extending the lead to as much as 10 points, 17-7.
- Banks topped the scoresheet with 14 kills, attacking at .367.
- Sophomore Kathleen Doherty and senior Sophia Smith each tallied 13 digs with smith adding a game-high five aces and 28 assists.Â
- Freshman Chye Davis recorded four blocks and four kills in the effort.

- The contest began with the teams evenly matched, until the Lions were able to pull in front, 20-12.Â
- Bentley was able to come within two, 23-21 but back-to-back kills from junior Kacey Affrunti put the first set away in favor of the visitors.
- The Falcons maintained an advantage through most of the second set, but the maroon and white put together a five-point run on the serving of freshman Brynne Winkelman to take a 21-19 lead before eventually taking the second set.Â
- The maroon and white attacked at a game-low .061 in the third set, committing eight errors in 33 attempts.
- Molloy was unable to overcome a late five-point run to put the home team in front 21-16, forcing a deciding set.
- The Falcons took 10 of the first 12 points in the final set.
- The Lions would battle to come within five, 14-9, but were unable to climb out of the eight-point hole and dropped the team's first match of the season.
- Banks (16) and Affrunti (14) each reached double-digit kills with senior Jessica Fischetti (15), Doherty (14), and Smith (11) tallying double-digit digs.Â
- Affrunti added five blocks in the effort with six members of the maroon and white dishing out service aces.
