Box Score Garden City, N.Y. – The Molloy men's soccer team fell to the #2 Adelphi Panthers, 3-1, Tuesday evening at Motamed Field. The Lions moved to 1-1-1, while the Panthers improved to 2-0.

How it Happened

• Paolo Marciano scored on a penalty kick in the fifth minute to put Adelphi ahead 1-0.
• Molloy knotted the score in the 29^th minute. Junior Oscar Magnusson touched a cross from senior Anthony Cestaro into the back of the net.
• Filippo Peri scored on a rebound to put the Panthers up 2-1 in the 34^th minute.
• Stephen Megaloudis tallied a goal from the top of the box to increase the home team's advantage to 3-1 in the 41^st minute.
• The Lions had a chance to cut into the lead in the 64^th minute, but senior Angelo Bordenca's shot was denied.
• Bordenca and senior Paul Morales had opportunities in the 79^th and 80^th minutes, but failed to find the back of the net.

Top Performances

• Magnusson netted his first goal of the season.
• Cestaro recorded his first assist of 2019.
• Cestaro and Magnusson lead the maroon and white with three points apeice. 
• Bordenca and Morales led the team with three shots.  

Coach's Comments

• "That was the best I can feel after a loss," head coach Danny Longo said. "We proved that we are pretty good . We gifted them two goals in the first half . Then we missed chances to score. We lost and we have to move on."
