Baseball Defeated by Dominican

Pomona, N.Y. – The Molloy baseball team fell to the Dominican Chargers, 10-3, Tuesday afternoon at PCU Park. The Lions moved to 13-27, while the Chargers improved to 25-23.

How it Happened
  • The Chargers scored six runs in the forth to go up 6-0.
  • In the top of the sixth, freshman Patrick Willix tallied an RBI single, and freshman Patrick Hoffman grounded out, which allowed junior Sean Hogan to score and cut the lead to 6-2.
  • Dominican added two runs in the bottom of sixth to increase its advantage to 8-2.
  • Hogan added an RBI single in the seventh to make it an 8-3 contest.
  • In the bottom half of the frame, the home team plated two runs and extended its lead to 10-3.
Top Performances
  • Hogan, who extended his hitting streak to 16 games, and freshman Robert Iadanza recorded two hits each.
  • Junior James Messina, Willix, and Hoffman each collected one hit.
Looking Ahead
  • The maroon and white returns home to host Mercy Friday, May 3. First pitch with the Mavericks is scheduled for 3:30 p.m. at Mitchel Field.
