Rochester, N.Y. - The men's lacrosse team fell in the penultimate regular season game of the 2019 season, 13-5, at Roberts Wesleyan College earlier this afternoon. Molloy now stands at 6-8 on the season and 2-3 in league play with the loss.

How it Happened

• The Lions took the first lead of the game on a goal from junior Kevin Pastier.
• The Redhawks responded by scoring the next two, but Pastier found the back of the net again to knot the score 2-2 after the first 15 minutes of play.
• Molloy scored the first and last goals of the second quarter off the sticks of sophomore Jack Egan and junior Anthony Teresky, but Roberts Wesleyan netted six in betweek, setting the score at 8-4 at the break.
• The home team increased its lead to 10-4 in the third before junior Travis Cooksey scored to bring the maroon and white within five, 10-5, after three quarters.
• The Lions were held without a goal in the final 15 minutes, giving Roberts Wesleyan the 13-5 victory.

Top Performances

• Teresky led with one goal and one assist while Pastier netted two goals.
• Senior Michael Scheuerer added an assist.
• Cookey added a team-leading four ground balls to his one goal.
• Senior Mike Durkin led the Lions with two caused turnovers while adding three ground balls.
• Sophomore Michael Kessler made 13 saves in net.

Looking Ahead
The Lions will host the University of the District of Columbia in the regular-season finale on Saturday (Apr. 27) at 3:00 p.m. The maroon and white will honor the team's senior class in a pre-game ceremony.
