Uniondale, N.Y. – The Molloy baseball team dropped a doubleheader to the LIU Post Pioneers Saturday afternoon at the Mitchel Field Athletic Complex. The Lions moved to 11-23 overall and 8-11 in ECC play. The Pioneers improved to 26-12 overall and 17-2 in league play.

Game One: LIU Post 8, Molloy 1

• The Pioneers plated four runs in the first to take a 4-0 lead.
• LIU Post added one run in the second to increase its advantage to 5-0.
• Senior Ryan Hensley hit an RBI single to cut the visitors' lead to 5-1 in the fifth.
• The away team scored three runs in the eighth on its way to an 8-1 win.
• Hensley and junior Sean Hogan tallied two hits in the loss.

Game Two: LIU Post 3, Molloy 2

• Molloy tallied two runs in the top of the second to go ahead 2-0. Hogan, who extended his hitting streak to 10 games, hit an RBI single down the right field line. Later in the frame, senior Nick Marino hit an RBI single to center.
• LIU Post tied the contest with two runs in the fourth.
• The Pioneers plated one run in the sixth on its way to a 3-2 win.
• Senior Jake Saltzman and freshman Chris Peralta recorded two hits each in the loss.
• Junior Joe Minucci struck out five batters in five innings pitched.

• The maroon and white travels to play LIU Post Monday, April 22. The series-finale with the Pioneers is scheduled for  3:30 p.m.
