Uniondale, N.Y. – The Molloy baseball team fell to the LIU Post Pioneers, 7-2, Thursday afternoon at the Mitchel Field Athletic Complex. The Lions fell to 11-21 overall and 8-9 in ECC play. The Pioneers improved to 24-12 overall and 15-2 in conference play.

How it Happened

• Senior Michael Wall hit a sacrifice fly to left field, which scored senior Nick Marino and gave the Lions a 1-0 advantage.
• In the top of the seventh, Giovanni Ciaccio walked with the bases loaded to knot the contest, 1-1.
• Molloy went back ahead, 2-1, in the bottom of the seventh. Junior Sean Hogan hit a sac fly to left, which scored sophomore Michael Nacinovich.
• Zach Fritz hit a three-run home run to left in the eighth to put LIU Post up 4-2.
• The away team added three runs in the ninth on its way to a 7-2 win.

Top Performances

• Nacinovich tallied three hits and scored one run.
• Marino collected two hits and scored one run.
• Hogan extended his hitting streak to eight games.
• Redshirt junior Timothy Panetta struck out four batters in 7.2 innings pitched.
