Rockville Centre, N.Y. - The men's lacrosse team picked up its second straight overtime victory, this time defeating New York Institute of Technology, 9-8, at John A. Darcy Field. The Lions improved to 6-7 on the season and 2-2 in East Coast Conference play with the victory.
How it Happened
- The Bears scored the first four goals of the contest, spanning the opening 20 minutes of action.
- The maroon and white responded with four goals to close the opening half, sending the teams into the break tied, 4-4.
- Junior Kevin Pastier found the back of the net first in the third quarter to put Molloy in front, but the Bears tallied the next two to take a 6-5 advantage.
- The Lions responded with back-to-back goals from senior Michael Scheuerer and freshman Michael Incantalupo to put the home team in front, 7-6.Â
- NYIT regained the lead in the, scoring in the final seconds of the third quarter and once more to open the final frame of regulation.Â
- Sophomore Jack Egan knotted the score, 8-8, in the final five minutes of play, forcing an overtime period.
- Scheuerer netted his third of the contest with just over one minute remaining in overtime to seal the victory in favor of the Lions.

- Egan led with four points on two goals and two assists. Scheuerer scored three goals for three points.
- Junior Colin Kotarski and freshman Brian Ford each tallied a goal and an assist for two points.
- Pastier and Incantalupo each scored once while junior Anthony Teresky dished out one assist.Â
- Senior Mike Durkin led with six ground balls while forcing one turnover. Sophomore Darryl Hilaire led the maroon and white with three caused turnovers.Â
- Sophomore Michael Kessler made seven stops in net.Â
