Flushing, N.Y. – The Molloy baseball team defeated the Queens College Knights, 6-2, Sunday afternoon at Hennekens Stadium. The Lions improved to 11-20 overall and 8-8 in ECC play. The Knights moved to 19-13-1 overall and 9-7 in ECC play.

How it Happened

• Junior Sean Hogan hit an RBI single up the middle to put the Lions ahead 1-0 in the third.
• In the bottom half of the frame, the Knights scored two runs to take a 2-1 lead.
• With the bases loaded, junior James Messina hit a bases clearing triple to give Molloy a 4-2 advantage in the fourth.
• Senior Nick Marino hit an RBI double to left center to increase the maroon and white's lead to 5-2 in the fifth.
• Sophomore Jake McCarthy added an RBI single in the seventh to make it a 6-2 contest.

Top Performances

• Messina recorded two hits and three RBIs.
• Marino and McCarthy each tallied two hits, one RBI, and scored one run.
• Hogan, who increased his hitting streak to seven games, collected two hits and one RBI.
• Sophomore Billy Wildeman pitched eight innings, gave up two runs on seven hits, and struck out three to improve to 2-3 on the season.
• Senior Lucas Burton fanned two batters in one inning of relief.
