Wilson Sets Program's All-Time Assists Record in Victory Over UDC

Rockville Centre, N.Y. – The Molloy women's lacrosse team defeated the University of the District of Columbia Firebirds, 19-3, Saturday afternoon at John A. Darcy Field. The Lions improved to 4-2 overall and 1-0 in ECC play. The Firebirds fell to 0-2 overall and 0-2 in league play.

How it Happened
  • The Lions netted the first eight goals of the contest.
  • With the score 8-1, Molloy tallied the next six goals and led 14-1 at the half.
  • Senior Casie Caiazza netted five goals, senior Michaela Siegler tallied four goals, senior Brianna Wilson and junior Amanda Reyes found the back of the net twice, and freshman Abbie Bellport scored once in the first frame.
  • Wilson, Reyes, sophomore Talia Maccarino, Bellport, and sophomore Sarah Weitman found the back of the net in the second half en route to a 19-3 win.
Top Performances
  • Wilson tallied a game-high 10 points (three goals and seven assists). The Levittown, N.Y. native set the program's all-time assist record (104), which was previous help by Megan Orlando (100).
  • Caiazza netted a career-high five goals to go along with two assists.
  • Siegler scored four goals, and Reyes added three tallies.
  • Senior Emily Bauer caused two turnovers and picked up one ground ball.
  • Sophomore Allie Long and freshman Serena Turco made one save each.
Coach's Comments 
  • " We played with energy and executed on both ends of the field today," head coach Tom Campolettano said. 
Looking Ahead
  • The maroon and white travels to play Jefferson tomorrow, Sunday, March 10. The game with the Rams is scheduled for 12:30 p.m.
