Erie, Pa. – The men's lacrosse team fell to the Lakers of Mercyhurst University this afternoon, falling to 1-3 on the season.

How it Happened

• The Lakers took a 5-0 lead in the first quarter before junior Travis Cooksey put the Lions on the board with 15 seconds remaining in the quarter.
• The home team added three goals to their lead to carry an 8-1 advantage into halftime.
• Sophomore Jack Egan netted a goal for Molloy to set the score at 9-2 in the third quarter before Mercyhurst responded with three goals of their own.
• Molloy tallied the next three goals of the contest on the sticks of junior Jeff Hauser, and freshmen Brian Ford and Robert Lopez.
• Mercyhurst ended the contest with six unanswered goals to take the 18-5 victory.

 
Top Performances

• Cooksey led the maroon and white with two points on one goal and one assist while also causing three turnovers and picking up seven ground balls.
• Junior Anthony Teresky added an assist on the afternoon for the Lions.
• Junior Brandon Leon caused three turnovers to go with four ground balls.
• Seniors Mike Durkin and Justin English added five ground balls with English going 15-of-27 from the faceoff dot.
• Sophomore Michael Kessler and freshman James O'Grady each made seven saves.
