Miami Shores, Fla. – The Molloy baseball team fell to the Felician Golden Falcons, 2-0, Thursday afternoon at Feinbloom Field. The Lions moved to 0-5, while the Golden Falcons improved to 3-8.

How it Happened

• Junior Sean Hogan and sophomore Matt Overton collected singles in the bottom of the first, but Felician worked out of the first and second jam with two outs.
• The Golden Falcons went ahead 1-0 in the top of the fifth.
• Felician plated an insurance run in the sixth to increase its lead to 2-0.
• The Lions threatened in the bottom of the ninth. Redshirt freshman Thomas Brady started the inning with a walk. With one out, sophomore Jake McCarthy was hit by a pitch. With two outs, senior Nick Marino was hit by a pitch to load the bases.
• With the bases full, senior Michael Wall popped out to short to end the game.

Top Performances

• Junior James Messina tallied a game-high three hits.
• Hogan, Brady, and Overton recorded one hit each.
• Junior Anthony Vano pitched six innings, gave up two runs on five hits, and struck out three batters.
• Freshman Christopher Wiercinski fanned four batters in two innings of work out of the bullpen.

• The maroon and white plays Barry tomorrow, Saturday, March 9. First pitch with the Buccaneers is scheduled for 6:00 p.m.
