Old Westbury, N.Y. – The Molloy baseball team fell to the NYIT Bears, 3-1, Saturday afternoon at Angelo Lorenzo Field. The Lions moved to 3-12 overall and 0-2 in ECC play. The Bears moved to 10-4 overall and 2-0 in conference play.

How it Happened

• The Bears scored two runs in the first to go up 2-0.
• NYIT added a run in the fifth to increase its lead to 3-0.
• The Lions plated a run in the ninth. Redshirt freshman Thomas Brady grounded out, which allowed freshman Chris Peralta to score.

Top Performances

• Peralta, sophomore Jake McCarthy, junior Sean Hogan, and senior Michael Wall tallied one hit.
• Peralta stole one base.
• The Molloy bullpen retired all 10 batters it faced. Freshman Christopher Wiercinski struck out two batters in 2.1 innings pitched, and senior Lucas Burton fanned two in one inning of relief.
