Sparkill, N.Y. – The Molloy women's lacrosse team defeated the St. Thomas Aquinas Spartans, 18-8, Saturday afternoon at Spartan Field. The Lions improved to 7-2 overall and 2-0 in ECC play. The Spartans fell to 2-4 overall and 0-1 in league play.

How it Happened

• The Lions netted the first three goals of the contest, led by two goals from senior Brianna Wilson and one from senior Casie Caiazza.
• With the score 3-1, Molloy netted five straight goals, led by two from Wilson and Caiazza and one from freshman Kara Rosenberg.
• Ahead 8-2, Wilson, Caiazza, junior Amanda Reyes, and freshman Megan Schiaffo added goals in the first stanza.
• The maroon and white led 12-2 at the break.
• Wilson and senior Michaela Siegler tallied two goals, and Reyes and sophomore Jillian Mayr found the back of the net once in the second frame en route to an 18-8 win.

Top Performances

• Wilson tallied a game-high eight points (seven goals and one assist).
• Caiazza recorded seven points (four goals and three assists).
• Siegler registered six points (two goals and four assists).
• Reyes netted two goals and picked up four ground balls.
• Sophomore Allie Long made eight saves in the win.

Coach's Comments

• "It was a great team effort, where everyone did their job to get the win," head coach Tom Campolettano said. "We now have to get ready for LIU Post on Wednesday."
