Orangeburg, N.Y. – The Molloy women's lacrosse team defeated the Dominican Chargers, 20-6, Thursday evening at the Torne Valley Complex. The Lions improved to 6-2. Dominican fell to 0-2.

How it Happened

• The Lions tallied the first two goals of the contest.
• With the score 2-1, Molloy netted four straight goals to increase its lead to 6-1.
• After Dominican cut the lead to 6-2, the maroon and white ended the half on a 9-2 rally and led 15-4 at the break.
• Senior Casie Caiazza and senior Brianna Wilson tallied four goals, senior Michaela Siegler scored three goals, and freshman Abbie Bellport, junior Amanda Reyes, freshman Kara Rosenberg, and redshirt senior Ali Pfeifer found the back of the net once in the first frame.
• Pfeifer netted two goals, and Wilson, Caiazza, and sophomore Sarah Weitman each scored once in the second half en route to a 20-6 victory.

Top Performances

• Wilson tallied nine points (five goals and four assists) and recorded seven draw controls.
• Caiazza registered eight points (five goals and three assists).
• Siegler logged seven points (three goals and four assists).
• Pfeifer added three goals and added one assist.
• Senior Emily Bauer caused one turnover and picked up two ground balls.
• Sophomore goalie Allie Long made five saves.

Coach's Comments 

• "Our offense executed on all cylinders tonight, and we had a lot of players in the scoring column," head coach Tom Campolettano said. 

Looking Ahead

• The maroon and white travels to play St. Thomas Aquinas Saturday, March 16. The game with the Spartans is scheduled for 1:00 p.m.
