Pastier Scores Twice in Loss to #3 Seton Hill

Greensburg, Pa. – The men's lacrosse team opened the 2019 campaign at #3 Seton Hill University, falling to the Griffins 18-4.
 
How it Happened
  • The home team opened up the contest with four straight goals.
  • Molloy took advantage of an extra man opportunity with 5:05 in the first quarter as freshman Anthony Teresky fed junior Kevin Pastier for the team's first goal of the season.
  • The Griffins scored once more to end the opening frame and added an additional four in the second quarter to take a 9-1 lead.
  • Sophomore Nick Del Giorno fed freshman Richie Polizzi, Jr., once again on the man-up, to being Molloy within seven at the half.
  • The Lions were kept off the board in the third quarter, trailing 15-2 at the end of the third quarter.
  • Freshman Robert Lopez scored with just under six minutes left to play in the contest to make it 17-3. Freshman Michael Incantalupo picked up the assist.
  • Molloy closed the contest with a third man-up goal with Pastier finding the back of the net off a pass from senior Michael Scheuerer to set the score at 18-4.
 
 
Top Performances
  • Pastier led the maroon and white with two goals.
  • Senior Mike Durkin led the team with seven ground balls and three caused turnovers. The senior and sophomore Steve Anacreon each won three face-offs.
  • Scheuerer and junior Travis Cooksey each added three ground balls with Scheuerer forcing one turnover.
  • Freshman goalie James O'Grady made 14 saves in the effort.
 

Coach's Comments
"Seton Hill is a very good team," commented head coach Bernard Dell'Aqula. "However, we need to be more disciplined and make fewer mistakes. I believe we have the type of guys who will learn from our mistakes and get better. 

Looking Ahead
Molloy heads to Wheeling, West Virginia on Feb. 17 to take on Wheeling Jesuit University at 2:00 p.m.
