Rockville Centre, N.Y. ­– The Molloy women's basketball team was defeated by the Daemen Wildcats, 70-60, Friday evening at Quealy Gymnasium. The Lions fell to 7-15 overall and 2-10 in ECC play. The Wildcats improved to 12-8 overall and 9-2 in league play.

How it Happened

• The Lions jumped out to an early 5-2 lead, on a three-pointer from senior Ihnacinse Grady and a jump shot from sophomore Marthe Guirand.
• With Molloy ahead 7-6, Daemen went on a 14-2 rally to take a 20-9 lead.
• The Wildcats led 22-11 after the first frame.
• With the visitors up 29-16, the Lions went on a 11-1 run, led by five points from junior Kathryn Gibson, to cut Daemen's lead to 30-27.
• The away team led 32-27 at the half.
• The Wildcats netted the first five points of the third frame to extend their advantage to 37-27.
• Daemen increased its lead to 53-36 with 4:07 left in the quarter.
• The visitors led 55-42 after 30 minutes of play.
• Down 57-42, the Lions scored seven consecutive points, led by a triple from Gibson, to make it a 57-49 contest, but that was as close as Molloy would get.

Top Performances

• Grady tallied a team-high 22 points and six assists.
• Junior Jenna Silletti recorded 10 points, five rebounds, and two blocks.
• Gibson netted 10 points.
