Grady Nets Career-High 25 Points in Win Over UDC on Senior Night

Rockville Centre, N.Y. – The Molloy women's basketball team defeated the University of the District of Columbia Firebirds, 76-69, in overtime on senior night Wednesday evening at Quealy Gymnasium. The Lions improved to 10-17 overall and 5-12 in ECC play. UDC fell to 9-18 overall and 6-11 in league play.

How it Happened
  • UDC jumped out to an early 7-2 lead.
  • Molloy ended the frame on a 10-2 run, led by seven points from senior Ihnacinse Grady, and had a 12-9 advantage after the first quarter.
  • Ahead 21-17, the Lions went on a 9-2 rally, sparked by four points from freshman Ellen Iversen, and led 30-19 at the half.
  • Junior Jenna Silletti made a jumper to increase the maroon and white's advantage to 36-23 with 7:19 left in the third stanza.
  • The Firebirds tallied 12 straight points to make it a 36-35 contest.
  • The away team took a 41-39 lead later in the frame.
  • The home team led 45-43 after 30 minutes of play.
  • UDC went up 56-53 with 3:24 left.
  • Grady netted four of the next six points to put the Lions up 59-56 with 1:52 left.
  • The Firebirds tied the game at 61 with 37 second remaining.
  • With Molloy up 67-66, redshirt senior Tyra Harrison scored five straight points to extend its lead to 72-68 with 1:20 left in the extra session.
  • The Lions put the game away at the foul line on their way to a 76-69 victory.
Top Performances
  • Grady tallied a career-high 25 points. The senior added nine rebounds, five steals, and four assists.
  • Harrison netted 16 points.
  • Silletti recorded 15 points.
  • Iversen registered a double-double (11 points and 11 rebounds).
