Sparkill, N.Y. – The Molloy women's basketball team fell to the St. Thomas Aquinas Spartans, 80-63, Saturday afternoon at Aquinas Hall. The Lions finished the season 10-18 overall and 5-13 in ECC play. The Spartans improved to 26-3 overall and 17-1 in league play.

How it Happened

• Molloy jumped out to a 7-6 led, sparked by five points from junior Kathryn Gibson.
• With the Spartans ahead 10-7, the Lions scored seven consecutive points, led by five points from senior Ihnacinse Grady, to take a 14-10 advantage.
• St. Thomas Aquinas led 17-14 after the first stanza.
• Up 26-21, the home team went on a 9-2 rally to extend its lead to 35-23.
• Freshman Ellen Iversen made a jumper to cut the STAC lead to 35-25 at the break.
• STAC started the third stanza on a 16-1 run to increase its lead to 51-26.
• The maroon and white netted the next seven points, led by a triple from Iversen, to cut the Spartans' advantage to 51-33.
• The home team led 56-39 after 30 minutes of play.
• Gibson made a three to cut STAC's lead to 64-53 with 5:22 left, but that was as close as Molloy would get.

Top Performances

• Grady netted a game-high 21 points.
• Sophomore Marthe Guirand tallied 17 points and a team-high six rebounds.
• Iversen registered nine points, and Gibson recorded eight points.
