Myrtle Beach, S.C. – The Molloy baseball team fell to the Felician Falcons, 16-8, Sunday afternoon in the Northeast Challenge at the Ripken Experience. The Lions moved to 0-4. The Falcons improved to 1-6.

How it Happened

• Junior Sean Hogan drilled a home run to right-center in the top of the first to put Molloy ahead 1-0.
• Felician tied the game in the bottom half of the inning.
• The Lions took a 2-1 advantage on an RBI from junior James Messina in the second.  
• The Falcons knotted the contest in the bottom half of the frame.
• Sophomore Matt Overton and senior Nick Marino tallied RBI doubles in the third to put the maroon and white up 4-2.
• Felician plated three runs in the third and four runs in the fourth to take a 9-4 advantage.
• Senior Michael Wall hit an RBI single, and freshman Patrick Willix walked with the bases loaded  in the fifth to cut the lead to 9-6.
• Hogan and freshman Patrick Hoffman added RBIs in the final stanza to make it a 16-8 game.

Top Performances

• Marino, Wall, and sophomore Jake McCarthy all tallied three hits.
• Hogan drove in a team-high two runs.

Looking Ahead

• The maroon and white hosts Dominican Saturday, March 2. The doubleheader with the Chargers is scheduled to begin at noon.
