Pastier Nets Hat Trick in Men's Lacrosse Loss at Southern New Hampshire

Manchester, N.H. - The men's lacrosse team fell to the Penmen of Southern New Hampshire University, 13-9, this afternoon at Larkin Field. Molloy fell to 1-2 on the campaign with the loss while SNHU improved to 1-1 in the victory.

How it Happened
  • The teams were tied after the first quarter with the Lions scoring on goals from junior Brandon Leon and freshman Richie Polizzi, Jr..
  • The Penmen doubled its lead early in the second frame before a goal from sophomore Jack Egan bought the maroon and white within one, 4-3.
  • The Lions fell behind, 6-3, before back-to-back markers from senior Michael Scheuerer and junior Kevin Pastier brought the visitors back within one.
  • The home team led 8-5 at the break.
  • Pastier netted the first goal of the second half to bring Molloy back within two, 8-6, but the Penmen took a 10-6 lead.
  • The Lions saw goals from Scheuerer, Pastier, and junior Anthony Teresky but were unable to tie the contest and eventually fell, 13-9.

Top Performances
  • Teresky led the maroon and white with four points on one goal and three assists.
  • Pastier led with a team-leading three goals while Scheuerer netted two.
  • Freshman Robert Lopez, junior Colin Kotarski, and sophomore Nick Del Giorno each added assists in the effort.
  • Senior face-off specialist Justin English went an impressive 22-of-25 at the face-off dot for the Lions, picking up a game-high 10 ground balls while causing one turnover.
  • Teresky and sophomore Sean Colbert each added a caused turnover as well.
  • Sophomore goalkeeper Michael Kessler made 11 saves in the effort.

Looking Ahead
The Lions remain on the road to open the season as they head to Rutherford, N.J. on Saturday (Mar. 2) to take on Felician University at 8:00 p.m.
