Rockville Centre, N.Y. - The Molloy women's basketball team fell to the Bridgeport Purple Knight, 85-78, Wednesday evening at Quealy Gymnasium. The Lions moved to 8-16 overall and 3-11 in ECC play. The Purple Knights improved to 10-13 overall and 6-7 in league play.
 
How it Happened

• The teams exchanged the lead to begin the contest. With the score tied at 11, the Purple Knights outscored the Lions 7-2 and led 18-13 after the first frame. 
• Bridgeport led 28-17 with 7:31 left in the second stanza.
• Molloy went on a 15-4 rally, led by seven points from freshman Ellen Iversen and four points from freshman Katie McSweeney, to knot the score at 32. 
• The visitors tallied the next five points and led 37-34 at the half.    
• Bridgeport went up 42-36 with 8:46 left in the third quarter.
• Molloy scored eight of the next ten points to tie the game at 44.
• With the Purple Knights up 56-54, Iversen hit back-to-back triples to put the home ahead 60-56 after 30 minutes of play.
• With the maroon and white up 62-58, Bridgeport went on an 11-0 run to take a 69-62 advantage.
• The Lions outscored the away team 11-4, led by six points from senior Ihnacinse Grady, to go ahead 74-73.
• UB opened an 82-76 advantage with 27 seconds left on its way to an 85-78 victory.

Top Performances

• Sophomore Melody Prichard netted a team-high 17 points.
• Iversen scored a career-high 16 points.
• Grady tallied a double-double (14 points and a career-high 13 assists). The senior logged five steals.
• Junior Jenna Silletti recorded 12 points.

• The maroon and white hits the road to play Mercy Saturday, February 16. Tip-off with the Mavericks is scheduled for noon.
