Philadelphia, Pa. – The Molloy women's basketball team topped the Chestnut Hill Griffins, 55-45, Saturday evening at Sorgenti Arena. The Lions improved to 1-0, while the Griffins fell to 0-1.

How it Happened

• The Griffins netted the first six points.
• Molloy ended the quarter on an 8-2 rally, led by five points from junior Gabriella Aspuru, and the game was tied at eight after the opening frame.
• Aspuru tallied the first five points of the second stanza to put Molloy up 13-8.
• The road team led 19-16 at the half.
• With the score 21-20, the maroon and white used a 14-2 run, led by five points from graduate student Robyn Francis and four points from senior Jenna Silletti to increase its advantage to 35-22.
• Molloy led 37-24 after 30 minutes of play.
• Junior Giolibeth Perez made a layup to increase the Lions' lead to 41-26 with 8:43 left.
• The home team cut the lead to 46-43 with 1:52 remaining.
• The visitors' ended the contest on a 9-2 run en route to a 55-45 victory.

• Francis netted 12 points and added six boards in her debut with the Lions.
