Philadelphia, Pa. – The Molloy women's soccer team defeated the Jefferson Rams, 2-1, Monday afternoon at Ravenhill Field. The Lions, who are ranked #3 in the East Region, improved to 12-4-1, while the Rams fell to 11-5.

How it Happened

• Jefferson's Dena Noiseux put the home team ahead 1-0 in the 20^th minute.
• After the Rams' goal, Molloy, which outshot Jefferson 6-3 in the first stanza, created chances to even the score. Junior Dana Poetzsch had a try stopped in the 35^th minute.
• In the 50^th minute, sophomore Meaghan O'Callaghan had a shot saved by Jefferson goalkeeper Erin Tinney, and then, fired the rebound wide.
• Senior Amy D'Eloia made a run down the left side and scored to knot the match, 1-1, in the 65^th minute.
• The Lions took a 2-1 advantage in the 72^nd minute. Poetzsch finished a tic-tac-toe passing sequence with D'Eloia and junior Lauren Marinello.
• The home team looked to tie the contest in the 75^th minute, but junior Jackie Carty denied the opportunity from Alexa Karakitsios.

Top Performances

• D'Eloia, who recorded her first multi-point match of the season, has two goals and one assist on the year.
• Poetzsch has 19 goals on the season, which is a career-high and leads the ECC.
• Marinello tallied her fourth assist of 2019.
• Carty made three saves in the win
