Rockville Centre, N.Y. – The Molloy women's soccer team fell to the Bridgeport Purple Knights, 1-0, Saturday afternoon at John A. Darcy Field. The Lions moved to 11-4-1 overall and 4-3 in ECC play, while the Purple Knights improved to 8-6-2 overall and 6-0-1 in league play.

How it Happened

• The Purple Knights took a 1-0 lead on a goal from Andrea Basillicato in the 20^th minute.
• Bridgeport, which outshot Molloy 6-2 in the first frame, led 1-0 at the break.
• Junior Dana Poetzsch made a run and fired a shot that was denied in the 48^th minute. Junior Lauren Marinello gathered the rebound, but her try was blocked.
• In 57^th minute, Poetzsch created a turnover in the box, but her attempt sailed over the net.
• The Purple Knights' defense held on for the 1-0 victory.
