Rockville Centre, N.Y. – The Molloy women's basketball team defeated the Stonehill Skyhawks, 51-38, Saturday afternoon at Quealy Gymnasium. The Lions improved to 2-1, while the Skyhawks fell to 2-1.

How it Happened

• With the score 6-6, the Lions outscored the Skyhawks 8-3, led by four points from junior Giolibeth Perez, and led 14-9 at the end of the first frame.
• Perez hit a three, and senior Jenna Silletti made a layup to increase Molloy's advantage to 19-9 with 5:20 remaining in the second stanza.
• The maroon and white led 21-14 at the break.
• Graduate student Kadijah Dickson led the home team with four points in the third quarter, and the Lions led 31-25 at the end of 30 minutes of play.
• Senior Kathryn Gibson hit a three-pointer to put Molloy ahead 36-25 with 8:34 left.
• Stonehill cut the lead to 36-30 with 5:43 remaining.
• Molloy answered with a 9-2 rally, led by three points from junior Gabriella Aspuru, to make it a 45-32 game.
• Dickson netted four points down the stretch to secure the 51-38 victory.

Top Performances

• Dickson tallied 16 points and five steals.
• Perez netted 12 points and nine steals.
• Silletti registered 10 points.
•  The Lions recorded 20 steals, which tied the single-game record, which was last done against Stonehill Jan. 5, 2009.
