Rockville Centre, N.Y. – The Molloy women's basketball team topped the Assumption Greyhounds, 67-51, Sunday afternoon at Quealy Gymnasium. The Lions improved to 3-1, while the Greyhounds moved to 2-2.

How it Happened

• The Lions jumped out to an 10-3 lead, led by four points from junior Giolibeth Perez and graduate student Kadijah Dickson.
• With the score 13-9, Molloy ended the quarter on an 8-0 run, sparked by three points from Dickson and senior Kathryn Gibson, and led 21-9 after the first stanza.
• Graduate student Robyn Francis netted six straight points to increase the home team's advantage to 31-15 with 3:37 left in the second frame.
• Molloy led 34-19 at the break.
• Perez started the third quarter with a basket to make it a 36-19 contest.
• Assumption answered with a 14-3 run to cut host's lead to 39-33.
• The Lions led 43-38 after 30 minutes of play.
• The home team opened the final quarter on a 9-0 rally, led by six points from Dickson, to bring its advantage to 52-38.
• Francis hit a free throw to extend Molloy's lead to 59-42 with 3:20 left.
• The maroon and white led by as many as 19 en route to a 67-51 victory.
