Rockville Centre, N.Y. – The Molloy women's soccer team defeated the Nyack Warriors, 8-0, Wednesday evening at John A. Darcy Field. The Lions improved to 6-3-1 overall, while the Warriors fell to 1-7-1.

How it Happened

• Junior Lexi Verni completed a passing sequence with junior Lauren Marinello and senior Daria Castrogivanni to put the Lions up 1-0 in the 25^th minute.
• In the 32^nd minute, junior Dana Poetzsch finished a pass from Marinello to increase the advantage to 2-0.
• Freshman Sarah Tappeto touched in a corner kick from sophomore Sabrina Bell to make it a 3-0 contest in the 50^th minute.
• Poetzsch found the back of the net in the 57^th and 61^st minutes, respectively.
• Sophomore Meaghan O'Callaghan, graduate student Kelsie Moinzadeh, and sophomore Joanna Graca added goals in the second stanza.

Top Performances

• Poetzsch netted her second hat trick of the season.
• Moinzadeh and O'Callaghan each tallied their fourth goal of the year.
• Tapetto recorded her first collegiate goal.
• Graca registered her first goal of the season, and Verni netted her third goal of 2019.
