Seaford, N.Y. - The field hockey team fell to Saint Thomas Aquinas College, 2-1, this afternoon from Cedar Creek Park. The loss dropped the Lions to 1-15 on the season and 1-11 in Northeast-10 play.
How it Happened
- STAC got on the board first, scoring on a deflection 10 minutes into the contest.
- The visitors took a 2-0 lead into the half as Briannah Thorne fired a shot from the top of the circle and into the net.
- Sophomore Lizzie Weiner netted her first collegiate goal in the 40th minute, scoring on her first penalty stroke attempt.
- Freshman goalkeeper Ally Saigh made a critical save late in the final quarter to keep Molloy within one, but the Lions were unable to register a shot in the final 15 minutes of play.
Top Performances
- Junior Nadia Elcock led the team with four shots, two fo which were on target.
- Sophomore Kyra Dalli added two shots.
- Saigh made six saves in net.
