Six Reach Double Digits in Dominant Victory Over LIU Post, 108-67

Rockville Centre, N.Y. – Six members of the maroon and white recorded double-digit point totals in a dominant 108-67 victory over the Pioneers of LIU Post. Molloy improved to 13-6 on the season with the victory and 9-1 in East Coast Conference play.
 
How it Happened
  • The Lions jumped out to an early seven point lead, 9-2, after three minutes of play. The lead would increase to as much as 16 points following a three-pointer from senior Chris O'Reilly, 27-11.
  • The Pioneers would come within nine, 29-20, with 10 minutes left in the first half, but Molloy quickly regained the double digit advantage following a layup from senior Mike Torre.
  • The Lions extended the lead to as much as 22 points on a three-pointer from freshman Pierce Boczar before taking a 56-36 lead into the break.
  • Molloy opened the second half on an 18-5 run to take a 33-point lead, 74-41.
  • The maroon and white would lead by as much as 52 points, 103-51, following a layup from freshman Colin Brady before securing the eventual 108-67 victory.
 
Top Performances
  • Torre led the Lions with a double-double, totaling 17 points while pulling down a game-high 14 rebounds.
  • Senior Curtis Jenkins and freshman Pano Pavlidis each tallied 14 points and pulled down nine rebounds in the effort. Jenkins also led the Lions with seven assists and two steals while Pavlidis recorded two blocks.
  • Junior Nick Corbett and Boczar totaled 12 points with Corbett dishing out four assists. Boczar went an impressive 4-of-7 from long distance in the victory.
  • O'Reilly rounded out Molloy's top scorers with 11 points, including three three-pointers.
  • As a team, the Lions shot 48.8 percent from the field, including 42.9 percent from three-point range.
  • The maroon and white saw 55 points from the bench in the effort.
 
Looking Ahead
The Lions head on the road to face New York Institute of Technology at Recreation Hall in Old Westbury on Saturday (Feb. 2) at 3:30 p.m.
