Easton, Mass - The Molloy women's soccer team fell to the Stonehill Skyhawks, 1-0, Thursday afternoon at Skyhawk Field.  The match was called at the 77:16 mark due to lightning. The Lions moved to 0-2-1. The Skyhawks improved to 3-0.
 
How it Happened

• Molloy outshot Stonehill 7-5 in the first half.
• Sophomores Dana Poetzsch and Lauren Marinello each recorded shots on goal in the opening stanza.
• Stonehill looked to go ahead in the 64^th minute, but sophomore Jackie Carty denied both sophomore Nicole Garfield and junior Nicole Geraghty on consecutive tries.
• Geraghty put the Skyhawks up 1-0 with a goal in the 71^st minute.

Top Performances

• Carty made 11 saves and has made double-digit saves in each of the Lions' first three matches.
• Poetzsch led Molloy with four shots.

Coach's Comments

• "We had a tough game against another NE-10 opponent," head coach Steve Price said. "There were a lot of positives, but we still need to work on a few things before we begin conference play.

Looking Ahead

• The maroon and white opens ECC play Saturday, September 15 at Daemen. Kick off is scheduled for 11:00 a.m.
