Orangeburg, N.Y. – The Molloy women's soccer team defeated the Dominican Chargers, 1-0, Wednesday afternoon at the World Class Complex. The Lions improved to 2-4-1. The Chargers fell to 1-7-1 overall.
 
How it Happened

• The Lions opened the scoring in the 68^th minute on a goal from sophomore Dana Poetzsch.
• Molloy outshot Dominican 20-9.

Top Performances

• Poetzsch netted her first goal of the season. The 2018 ECC Preseason Player of the Year led the team with eight shots.
• Sophomore Jessica Mauro tallied her first assist of the season and the third of her career.
• Sophomore Jackie Carty made one save to record her first shutout of the season.
• Freshmen Lexi Verni and Joanna Graca each registered  three shots on goal.

Coach's Comments 

• "We created a lot of quality chances," head coach Steve Price said. "We will need to work on our finishing. On a positive side, we got a win and a clean sheet."

 Looking Ahead

• The maroon and white travels to play Lincoln Saturday, September 29. The match with the Lions is scheduled for 6:00 p.m.
