Rockville Centre, N.Y.  – The Molloy women's soccer team was defeated by the LIU Post Pioneers, 3-0, Saturday afternoon at John A. Darcy Field. The Lions moved to 1-4-1 overall and 0-2 in East Coast Conference play. The Pioneers improved to 4-2 overall and 1-1 in conference play.

 How it Happened

• LIU Post opened the scoring in the third minute on a goal from sophomore Sydney Pasquarella.
• Junior Alice Schonfeldt converted on a penalty kick to put the Pioneers ahead 2-0 in the 11^th minute.
• Junior Julia Duffy found the back of the net in the 25^th minute to increase the road team's advantage to 3-0.

Coach's Comments

• "We didn't play well in the first half and got punished by a quality team," head coach Steve Price said. " We showed a lot of character in the second half. We fought back, played better, and even in defeat, there were positives." 

Top Performances

• Sophomore Dana Poetzsch led the Lions with two shots.
• Sophomore Jackie Carty made seven stops and leads the ECC with 64 saves.

 Looking Ahead

• The maroon and white travels to play Dominican Wednesday, September 26. The match with the Chargers is scheduled for 3:30 p.m.
