Rockville Centre, N.Y. (Mar. 31, 2018) - Junior Michael Scheuerer scored three goals in a 15-5 loss for men's lacrosse against No.13 Mercy College. With the loss, the Lions fall to 4-4 on the season and 0-2 in East Coast Conference play. 

The Mavericks took a two-goal lead before Scheuerer put the maroon and white on the board off a feed from freshman Nick Del Giorno. Mercy took a 7-1 lead into the second frame. 

Sophomore Kevin Pastier and Scheuerer scored back-to-back markers to bring the Lions within five, 8-3, at the end of the first half of play. 

Scheuerer completed the hat trick in the third frame to set the score at 10-4. Pastier added his second of the game in the final stanza to round out the home team's scoring. 

Scheuerer led the maroon and white with four points on three goals and one assist while Pastier (two goals) totaled two points. Del Giorno and sophomores Jeff Hauser and Colin Kotarski each added assists in the effort. 

Junior Mike Durkin led the Lions with eight ground balls and two caused turnovers. Junior Jake Vollaro caused two turnovers as well. Junior Justin English went 9-of-18 on the face-off, picking up three ground balls. Senior Ryan Toomey made six saves in the loss. 

Molloy begins a two-game road trip on Tuesday (Apr. 3) as they head to Chestnut Hill College. Face-off is slated for 6:00 p.m.
