Clermont, Fla. (Mar. 10, 2018) – The maroon and white split a doubleheader against Georgian Court University in its opening day at the PFX Spring Games, played at Legends Way. Molloy improves to 5-3 on the season with the victory.
Game One: Molloy 8, Georgian Court 0 (6 innings)

Kaitlyn Snyder put the Lions on the board with a solo home run to start the contest. The second baseman added a second homer to kick off the third inning, doubling Molloy's lead. With the bases loaded, a fielder's choice from senior

Brianna Dalton to extend the lead to 3-0.
The Lions would double the lead the following inning on RBIs from Dalton and sophomore
Mikaela Tribby. Molloy took advantage of a fielding error to add another run in the fifth before a sacrifice fly from senior
Alexandra Russo put the maroon and white in front, 8-0 in the sixth inning.
The Lions of Georgian Court were unable to bring a run home in the bottom half of the inning, ending the game with a run rule.
Junior
Jenna Turato improved to 4-1 on the season, pitching a complete game, allowing four hits while striking out six batters. Synder led the Lions, going 4-for-4 with two home runs and one stolen base. Senior

Sarah Glaser each stole bases in the effort as well.
Game Two: Molloy 4, Georgian Court 5
Georgian Court struck first in the second half of a doubleheader, scoring two runs in the first inning. Senior
Olivia Banulski cut the deficit in half in the bottom half of the inning, scoring Snyder on a single. After leading off the bottom of the second with a double, freshman
Courtney Greene scored on a wild pitch, knotting the score 2-2.
Kassandra Tibbetts led off the top of the fourth with a home run before two RBI singles extended Georgian Court's lead to 5-2. Walks to Dalton and Heyer and a single from Greene loaded the bases for Rambo, who singled to left to bring Molloy within two. A sacrifice fly from Russo set the score at 5-4 after four innings.
The maroon and white ultimately came up short, not recording a hit through the final three innings.
Greene tossed three innings, allowing six hits in the loss. Offensively, the rookie went 2-for-3 with a double to lead the Lions.
Molloy returns to action tomorrow (Mar. 11) in a doubleheader against Stonehill beginning at 9:00 a.m.
