Miami Shores, Fla. (Mar. 10, 2018) – Five Molloy baseball players recorded multiple RBIs in its 13-4 victory over the Felician Golden Falcons Saturday afternoon at the Barry Invitational. The Lions improved to 5-7 overall with the win. Freshman
Matt Overton drove in four runs, and sophomore
Jake Saltzman tallied three hits, three RBIs, and a home run for the maroon and white.
Molloy started the game with five runs in the top of the first inning. With the bases loaded, Overton drilled a two-run double down the left field line to make it 2-0. Sophomore
Sean Hogan hit a sacrifice fly to score senior
Elijah Leerdam, and junior
Nick Marino capped the rally with a two-run home run to left center.
Felician (2-14) scored four runs in the first to cut the lead to 5-4.
The Lions added insurance runs in the fourth. Overton launched a two-run double to extend the lead to 7-4.
In the sixth, Hogan singled to plate Leerdam and increased the maroon and white's advantage to 8-4.
Molloy finished the contest with a five-run ninth inning. Senior
Jack McCarty singled through the left side, which scored sophomore
James Messina and junior
Michael Wall. Later in the frame, Saltzman belted a three-run homer to make it 13-4.

Kevin Hiss pitched seven innings, gave up four runs, and struck out two batters to improve to 3-0 on the season.

Shawn Klotsche each threw a shutout inning in relief in the win.
The Lions return to action tomorrow, Mar. 11 when they play Barry. First pitch with the Buccaneers is slated for 1:00 p.m.
