Myrtle Beach, S.C. (Feb. 18, 2018) – The Molloy softball team concluded its appearance at the Snowbird Freeze Out, splitting games against Le Moyne College and Clarion University. The Lions improve to 4-2 on the season following the final day of action.
Game One: Molloy 1, Le Moyne 3
After five scoreless innings of play, the Dolphins drew first blood on a two-run home run from junior Lauren Zazzaro. Le Moyne added an insurance run following an RBI single from sophomore Jillian McManus.

Kaitlyn Snyder put the Lions on the board in the bottom half of the inning with a solo shot to left field on a full count to cut the deficit to two runs.
Molloy put runners on first and second in the bottom of the seventh, but senior Alexis Eastman retired the side to seal the victory. Snyder, sophomore

Courtney Greene each recorded hits for the maroon and white.
Greene tossed 5.2 innings, fanning four batters while allowing three runs on eight hits in the loss to go to 1-1 on the season.
Game Two: Molloy 5, Clarion 3
The Golden Eagles took an early lead on a solo homerun from Natalie Else.
Synder led things off for Molloy in the bottom of the fourth with a double to the left field wall. A bunt from senior
Olivia Banulski advanced her to third before Tribby drove in the run with a single to right field to knot the contest. Senior
Brianna Dalton drew a four-pitch walk to load the bases with no outs before Greene doubled the lead with an RBI single to right. Back-to-back sacrifice flies from senior

Jaclyn Rodriguez gave the Lions a 4-1 lead.
The maroon and white struck again in the bottom of the fifth as Synder led off with her second double of the game. Banulski advanced the runner to third, allowing the junior to score on a wild pitch.
Moriah Lynn placed a triple at the left field wall to cut the deficit to three runs before scoring on a fielding error by the Lions at the top of the sixth inning.
Junior
Jenna Turato fanned the first two batters in the top of the seventh before forcing a fly out to end the contest and earn her third win of the season. The junior struck out a career-high nine batters in the victory.
Molloy is slated to host the University of New Haven on March 7 at 3:30 p.m.
