Rockville Centre, N.Y. – The Molloy women's basketball team fell to the NYIT Bears, 73-45, Saturday afternoon at Quealy Gymnasium. The Lions moved to 5-3 overall and 0-2 in East Coast Conference play. The Bears improved to 9-1 overall and 2-0 in ECC play.

How it Happened

• The Lions jumped out to an early 6-3 advantage, led by four points from sophomore Melody Prichard.
• With the home team ahead 9-6, NYIT ended the quarter on a 9-2 run to go ahead 15-11.
• The Bears increased their lead to 17-11, but the Lions answered with six consecutive points to knot the score at 17.
• With the visitors ahead 26-24, they used a 9-1 rally to increase their lead to 35-25. Molloy trailed 37-28 at the half.
• Prichard cut NYIT's lead to five, 39-34, with a pair of free throws with 6:55 left in the third stanza.
• The Bears answered with a 14-0 run to make it a 53-34 contest.
• NYIT led 56-38 at the end of 30 minutes of play.
• The road team went on to win 73-45.

• Prichard netted a team-high 12 points.
• Junior Jenna Silletti tallied eight points.
• Sophomores Gabriella Aspuru and Marthe Guirand recorded seven rebounds each.
