Bridgeport, Conn. -  The Molloy women's basketball team fell to the Bridgeport Purple Knights, 57-48, Wednesday evening at Hubbell Gym. The Lions moved to 5-4 overall and 0-3 in ECC play. The Purple Knights improved to 5-4 overall and 2-1 in league play.

How it Happened

• With the score 4-4, the Purple Knights went on a 10-0 run to take a 14-4 advantage. The home team led 14-6 at the end of the first quarter.
• Down 20-8, the Lions tallied seven straight points, led by five points from sophomore Melody Prichard, to make it a 20-15 contest.
• Senior Ihnacinse Grady made a three-pointer to cut the Bridgeport lead to 24-20 with 3:11 left in the second frame.
• The home team led 30-22 at the half.
• The Purple Knights led 36-24 with 5:53 left in the third stanza.
• Molloy went on an 11-2 rally, led by seven points from junior Kathryn Gibson, and trailed 38-35 after 30 minutes of play.
• With Bridgeport ahead 40-35, the visitors scored the next six points on back-to-back threes from freshman Katie Marquardt and Gibson to go up 41-40 with 8:24 left.
• The home team went on an 11-2 run to take a 51-43 lead with 3:14 remaining en route to a 57-48 victory.

Top Performances

• Gibson netted a team-high 13 points.
• Grady tallied 11 points, eight rebounds, and seven assists.
• Sophomore Gabriella Aspuru recorded nine rebounds.
