Easton, Mass. – The Molloy women's basketball team was defeated by the Assumption Greyhounds, 59-51, Sunday afternoon at Merkert Gymnasium. Molloy moved to 6-7. The Greyhounds improved to 9-4.

How it Happened

• Assumption took an early 6-3 advantage.
• The Lions answered with five straight points, a three-pointer from senior Ihnacinse Grady and a layup from freshman Ellen Iversen, to go ahead 8-6.
• Molloy led 12-9 at the end of the first quarter.
• Freshman Katie McSweeney scored to extend the maroon and white's lead to 14-9 with 9:03 left in the second quarter.
• The Greyhounds went on a 7-2 rally to knot the score at 16 with 7:01 left in the half.
• Iverson tallied the next four points to put Molloy ahead 20-16.
• The contest was tied at 23 at the break.
• Sophomore Melody Prichard recorded the first four points of the third quarter to put Molloy up 27-23.
• Assumption scored six consecutive points to go up 29-27.
• With the score 33-33, Prichard registered four of the Lions' next five points to give them a 38-33 advantage.
• The maroon and white led 38-36 after 30 minutes of play.
• Prichard put the Lions ahead 46-41 with 6:25 left, but the Greyhounds closed the contest on an 18-5 rally.

• Prichard scored a game-high 14 points.
• Iversen tallied career-highs in points (11), minutes played (19), and rebounds (9).
