Bronxville, N.Y. - The Molloy women's basketball team defeated the Concordia Clippers, 69-49, Wednesday evening at the Meyer Athletic Center . The Lions improved to 3-1. The Clippers fell to 1-4.
How it Happened
- The Lions scored 15 of the first 18 points of the contest, led by four points from sophomore Melody Prichard. Molloy led 15-5 at the end of the first stanza.
- The Clippers made it a four-point game,28-24, with 2:57 left in the second frame . The maroon and white extended its lead to eight , 32-24, on a pair of free throws from sophomore Marthe Guirand and a basket from junior Jenna Silletti. The Lions led 34-26 at the half.
- With the score 36-30, Molloy went on an 11-0 run , led by seven points from redshirt senior Tyra Harrison, to make it a 47-30 contest. Later in the frame , Harrison made a three-pointer to give the visitors a 52-32 advantage. The Lions led 57-38 at the end of 30 minutes of play .
- Ahead 57-40, the maroon and white used an 8-0 rally , led by threes from , freshmen Ellen Iversen and senior Ihnacinse Grady, to bring its lead to 65-40.
Top Performances
- Guirand and Harrison each netted a game-high 15 points.
- Grady tallied 13 points, seven assists, five rebounds, and four steals.
- The Lions shot 49.1 percent, 27-of-55, from the field.

Molloy returns home to play Wilmington Wednesday, November 28. Tip-off with the Wildcats is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. at Quealy Gymnasium.
