Amherst, N.Y. – The second-seeded volleyball team fell in the East Coast Conference Championship Game, 3-1, to top-seeded Daemen College this evening in Lumsden Gymnasium. This was Molloy's second consecutive appearance in the ECC Championship, winning the program's first-ever title in 2017. The Lions, currently fourth in the regional rankings will now await the NCAA Division II Tournament Selection Show tomorrow (Nov. 11) to determine its fate at continued postseason play.

How it Happened
- The Wildcats opened the contest to a 6-2 lead following a five-point run before extending the lead to 14-6.
- Kills from junior Hailey Wehr and Kacey Affrunti in a four-point run helped bring the Lions within four, 14-10.
- Molloy battled to within one, 18-17, before three-straight points sealed the lead for Daemen, who held on to take the set.
- The home team once again took an early lead, 13-5, in the second set.
- The Wildcats seemed to be closing out the second set, leading 23-20, before the Lions rallied for the final five points of the set to knot the contest.
- With the momentum in favor of the visitors, the maroon and white continued the run into the third set to an early 7-3 lead.
- The Wildcats countered, however, with a five-point run to take an 8-7 lead.
- The teams continued battling back-and-forth, neither gaining more than a two-point advantage until Daemen closed the set with a six-point run.
- The score was tied five times throughout the first half of the fourth set before the Wildcats fired off four straight points to take a 17-13 lead.
- Molloy was able to tie the set at 21-21 and later 23-23, but the final two points of the contest went in favor of the Wildcats, earning Daemen its first ECC Championship.
Top Performances
- The maroon and white were led by 13 kills from redshirt junior Carly Banks, who attacked at .273 on the evening.
- She was joined in double-digits by Affrunti, who added five blocks and a game-high three service aces.
- Junior Jessica Fischetti led Molloy with 24 digs. Senior Jeanne Reinis tallied 13 while junior Sophia Smith paired 12 digs with 27 assists for a double-double.
