Nadia Elcock tallied six points in a 7-0 victory over Converse College at Saints Field. The team, now 8-4 on the campaign, has won its last four contests.
How it Happened
- Molloy took a 2-0 lead after the first half on goals from redshirt senior Zoe Norton in the seventh minute and freshman Erin Tudryn in the 23rd minute.
- Elcock netted two goals in the second half, in the 42nd and 51st minute.
- Senior Ellyn Byrnes tallied a goal following an assist from Norton in the 45th minute.
- Norton added a second goal in the 63rd minute to set the score at 6-0.
- Elcock completed the six-point effort with a second assist on a goal by freshman Jessica Kleber in the 65th minute.
- The Lions outshot the Valkyries 19-9, holding the home team to just five shots on goal.
- Senior goalkeeper Tara Byrnes made three saves in 64 minutes of work. Freshman Tyler Hall made two saves in her second appearance of the season.
Looking Ahead
The maroon and white end a six-game road trip and will welcome Newberry College to Cedar Creek Park at 1:00 p.m. next Saturday (Oct. 13). Molloy will be celebrating Breast Cancer Awareness Day, recognizing all of those battling breast cancer and their fight.
