Rockville Centre, N.Y. – The Molloy women's soccer team topped the Roberts Wesleyan Redhawks, 1-0, on senior day Saturday afternoon at John A. Darcy Field. The Lions improved to 6-8-1 overall and 3-5 in ECC play. The Redhawks moved to 5-8-2 overall and 3-5 in conference play.

How it Happened

• The Lions outshot the Redhawks 6-0 in the first half, but the contest was tied at the break.
• Sophomore Lauren Marinello put the home team ahead 1-0 in the 68^th minute.
• Roberts generated two chances to even the score in the final moments of the match. Sophomore Jackie Carty denied free kicks from junior Israela Groves in the 89^th and 90^th minutes, respectively.

Top Performances

• Marinello netted her first goal of the season.
• Senior Daria Castrogivanni recorded her second assist of the campaign.
• Senior Dominique Capolongo led the team with four shots.
• Carty made two saves in her third shutout of the year.   
• The Lions honored seniors Kim Mejia, Caroline Zimmerman, Amanda Milazzo, Capolongo, and Castrogivanni for senior day prior to the match.
