Sparkill, N.Y. – The Molloy women's soccer team defeated the St. Thomas Aquinas Spartans, 1-0, Saturday afternoon at Spartan Field. The Lions improved to 4-7-1 overall and 2-4 in league play. The Spartans moved to 6-5-1 overall and 2-4-1 in ECC play.

How it Happened

• Freshman Joanna Graca put the Lions up 1-0 in the 56^th minute.
• Molloy outshot the Spartans 6-2 in the second half.

Top Performances

• Graca netted her fourth goal of the season and is tied for the team lead in goals.
• Dana Poetzsch tallied her second assist of the season. The sophomore leads the Lions with 10 points.
• Sophomore Jackie Carty made two saves for her second shutout of the season.

Coach's Comments

• "The team played well," head coach Steve Price said. "It was good to get back to our winning ways and get a clean sheet." 

Looking Ahead

• The maroon and white returns home to host Jefferson Monday, October 15^th. The match with the Rams is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. at John A. Darcy Field.
